Ordination Pictures (Part 2)
ABOVE: The Vicar-General, Monsignor Sebastian Francis, makes a request to the Bishop on behalf of Holy Mother Church to ordain me as Deacon. The Bishop asks if I have been found worthy, and the Vicar-General informs him that I have been found worthy upon enquiry among God's people.
ABOVE: The Bishop announces that I am now chosen for the Order of Deacons.
ABOVE: I stand before the Bishop as he delivers his homily to the congregation and me on my role as a Deacon of the Church. He subsequently asks me a series of questions pertaining to my resolutions to embrace a way of life appropriate to my role as a clergy of the Church, to which I have to respond.
ABOVE: I place my joined hands in between those of the Bishop's as I make a promise of respect and obedience to him and his successors.
ABOVE: I prostrate as the Litany of the Saints is being cantored. We invoke the saints to pray for us, and particularly for me as I enter into this sacrament of the Holy Orders.
ABOVE: The Bishop imposes his hands upon me in silence as I kneel before him.
ABOVE: With his hands extended over me, the Bishop says the Prayer of Consecration: "Lord send forth upon him the Holy Spirit that he may be strengthened by the gift of your sevenfold grace to carry out faithfully the work of the ministry."
